From Bui O public school, and
starting off along the chi ma wan road, we begin section 12 of the Lantau
Trail. Continued straight for about 150 metres, where a short trail goes
to Pui O beach. Shap Long Au, the gap between the chi ma wan peninsula and
the body of Lantau, is located at distance Post L126. We shall turn left,
to the north, and follow section 12 of the Lantau trail as it winds over
the hills towards Mui Wo. After Distance Post L130, the path going down to
Nam Shan is steep, with steps made of stones found at the spot. The steps
end at the Pak Fu Tin Campsite. Going on for 1/2 a Km brings us to a path,
which then leads us to a cement road. From distance post L135 walk about
1.5Km, Silver mine Bay is seen in the middle Distance. Looking down from
near Distance post L138, there is a helipad and , to the left, a refuse
collection and a sewage treatment plant. Here one is approaching the end
of the Lantau Trail. Continuing past Mui Wo Southern District Secondary
School, hikers finally reach Mui Wo Ferry Pier, the end of the trail!
